In this project the foundation will provide monthly rations to the target group who depend on the foundation to provide basic or supplemental food supplies. This group is often not served by other organizations and have become even more vulnerable due to budget cuts.
The foundation’s operations are partially financed by SMDF and the R4CR grant will help them focus on their core tasks of food distribution for those unable to provide for themselves.
The Bishop W M Ellis Foundation is comprised of five board members and four other volunteers at present. The main sector they are active in is purchasing food items and distributing them to their clients who are members of the society that were assessed to be unable to sustain themselves on the income they have.
