The 24 kids living at the foster home go to different schools on the island and need to be transported back and forth daily. The current bus is 15 years old, has suffered significant damage during hurricane Irma and is currently facing multiple mechanical issues. The old bus has left the group stranded on many occasions and has become a liability. The need for reliable transportation for this vulnerable group of children is self-evident. The new bus will provide safe and reliable transportation for these children. They will be able to get to and from school and participate in many after school activities just like their peers.
The New Start for Children Foundation runs a foster home for children between the ages of 0-18 years. The foster home assists families who find themselves in a critical situation while raising their children.
