Helping Hands Foundation (HHF) provides transportation services to the elderly and infirm at social prices. The wheel chair bus was damaged during hurricane Irma and need some repairs. The foundation would like to secure the transportation contract from SZV but must have two wheelchair busses operational in order to qualify. During this project the necessary repairs to the bus will be made. In addition, the drivers will be given advanced First Aid and CPR training to meet the SZV requirements. With these improvements HHF will be able to transport 550 additional persons per year.
HHF has been the pioneer organization for responding to needs of the elderly, disabled and mentally challenged for 20+ years on St. Maarten. By providing transportation these target groups are more mobile and independent and have the opportunity to socialize and have access to medical services and recreational activities.
