The effects of cardiovascular diseases on St. Maarten have become more pronounced after hurricane Irma and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project will make use of recreational activities, awareness campaigns and workshops to contribute to the pre-emptive prevention and proper management of cardiovascular diseases. In addition, the foundation will distribute blood-pressure monitors in all districts to help caregivers monitor blood pressure better and provide supporting information and education.
The SHSF was founded to provide information on cardiovascular diseases and risk factors to the general public, patients and their caregivers.
