Voice of the Youth (VOTY) runs an intervention program for at-risk youth (age 12-21). The program also caters to disenfranchised youth who are looking for an organization that provides them with discipline structure and character building (Youth Brigade). VOTY organizes many activities for the youngsters under their care and have been struggling for years with transportation problems and related costs. This bus will greatly simplify their logistics and produce significant cost savings. When not in use, the bus will be made available to other CSOs at social prices, making it a win for other CSOs in need of affordable transportation as well.
The VOTY program St. Maarten Youth Brigade provides a 3-year program for the target group ages 12-21. The Youth Brigade aims to eradicate the phenomena of negative behavior amongst youth and assists in the development and overall well-being of the adolescent population. Participants receive physical, mental, cognitive and social education in order to promote self-confidence, self-esteem and higher-level thinking skills. The Youth Brigade promotes a sense of responsibility and discipline in the members, so they may function as role models and reliable sources of inspiration for other youngsters.
